A wild day
We have just had a power cut, thunder and lightning, heavy rain and it is 14.1 degrees and going down fast. Ten minutes before this, the sun was out, it was 19 degrees, and I was thinking of perhaps hanging out the washing. I think I will now put it in the dryer.
Another shocking day today. It poured from midnight onwards, and when the alarm went off at 4.45am, I didn't want to get up and milk - I just wanted to stay in bed in the warmth. But I couldn't. It poured down during milking, and this morning we had to get back into our wet weather gear to get in our cow that calved overnight. It just wasn't nice.
I took this picture on the way to pick up the cow and calf this morning. We have puddles on the laneways, lakes in the paddocks, and the creeks are overflowing. It isn't a nice day.
But the good news is that tomorrow and Monday are going to be fine. Fingers crossed.
Oh, and the dog in the picture is Jess - another one of our farm dogs. It looks like she has one leg, but I can assure you that she does have 4. Just a bit of trick photography!
