Run!

While putting our kayaks away this morning I noticed a fantastically colored beetle.

Its iridescent, metalflake greenish-gold wing covers were dazzling in contrast to its iridescent greenish-black body parts.

It was quite willing to be photographed; probably a superstar in his own beetle cohort.

I must tell you that I did get some quite satisfactory images of this critter.

Though, by far, not the best of my efforts to photograph the this beautiful bug, the above image is the one I could not resist blipping today.

Not only does it demonstrate the beetle's good sense to run from my big stomping feet, it shows one of my brand new birthday present boots ;-)
