Institution
Save On Meats is a bit of a Vancouver institution, or it is according to a documentary we watched a month or do ago. When we first moved to the city I was aghast at the idea, surely meat is the last thing you want to save on? And a neon revolving pig it doesn't quite conjure up the grass pastures and open spaces we like to imagine our meat has experienced before it reaches the table.
I caught this blip today after the Insitutions by Artists conference I've been at. It's about artist run culture and it's been interesting to hear different viewpoints from around the globe. I had my lunch with two interesting women from Melbourne today who are researching artist run spaces.
Today also marks the beginning of Vancouver's rainy season, I expect this will stay until June now. To celebrate Andy and I had a beer, which we now discover was 9%, I'm not sure if we'll make it out to the Video Bar or 24hour graffiti project we were going to tonight.
