Boxing Day
It always feels a bit flat after Christmas is over - all those weeks of preparing and thinking about Christmas and then in an instant it has passed by. It felt even more depressing when we took the Christmas tree down today - as we are going away tomorrow I did not want to leave it up until we get back on the 5th. It was already quite dry and brittle and the ornaments had already started sliding off the branches as they drooped, so it was not a bad thing to take it down today. We also took Murdoch to the kennels today and that is another thing that always makes me sad, but he was squealing with delight as we approached and as we opened the car door he rushed in without so much as a backward glance!
This afternoon Luke and Kevin went to Stamford Bridge to see Chelsea vs Brighton - this was one of Kevin's Christmas presents. Unfortunately our train line was not running today, and their plan to drive to Wimbledon and get the tube from there was also ruined as that tube line was also not working today - so they ended up driving to the stadium where thankfully they found some parking nearby.
While they were out I took some more photos of Bianca - its my only opportunity to get some portrait shots done and it will be a long time before I can get some of her again. I know I have been blipping many portraits lately but from tomorrow t will be snowy scenes instead.
We leave home at 5am tomorrow morning and everyone is looking forward to seeing all the snow. They have had excellent snow this season, so we are bound to get some good skiing. I am worried it may be very cold for Bianca and Kevin - coming from tropical Durban they are not used to such cold weather, but hopefully it will be okay.
I really have had no time for journals lately - it has been so busy with a full house and all the Christmas activities. I am not sure how everyone else is coping to keep up with journals at this busy time of year.
