Soul Food

A day like today has been long awaited, finally some blue sky magic in the Lake District.
We wanted to head North, but we'd no real plan. Somewhat unsurprisingly then we found ourselves parked in our favourite layby next to Derwentwater. A steep little scramble down to the shore offers a view that never disappoints.
Goals at the moment need to be small and tangible, so with no real aim we walked along the shore. It's a good but rough path and was just the level of challenge the ankle needs. We went bay by bay, from spruce to larch until finally we found ourselves at the Lions bench, a wonderful place to rest a while and watch the canoes ripple the water. Then of course the mildly harder wander back, all in all a glorious couple of hours.

Then off to the pool and lunch in a very nearly closed Penrith.

In other news....
Still can't shake this chest infection, feel like a quarter of my lungs are filled with tickly cotton wool. I've tried Benoline, paracetamol and scotch (obvs not together) to no avail.... So am open to suggestions.
