Wine Tasting

I was awake early this morning as my sore throat has now turned into a very 'productive' cough, and when I'm lay down, I start coughing.  So by 7am I decided to get up and have a hot bath in the hope that the steam might help.

Then we had an appointment at 10.15am with the vet in the next town of Ribeauville, to get the boys' passports in order ready for our journey home on Saturday.  We decided to make a morning of it in Ribeauville seeing as we were there, and are glad we did as it's another pretty town.

We got back to Riquewihr about 1.30pm but it was so busy we couldn't find anywhere to park the car.  We drove round and round a few times and gave up and left the car in the only space we could find on the other side of the town.  I think the world and his wife had arrived in Riquewihr this afternoon, it was definitely a lot busier than we've seen it before.

We dropped the boys off at the apartment and then went to have a 'Tarte Flambee' which is a local speciality - it's like a pizza, but it has a very thin base and the topping is made of creme fraiche, onions and lardons (bits of ham).  Then after we'd eaten we strolled around town and stopped off for a glass of Cremant at our favourite wine cellar 'Jung et Fils'.  It's such a cosy place to have a drink, and we really like their particular wines, plus we've got quite friendly with Mme Jung and have a chat each time we go in.  Tonight when we came to pay the bill, she only charged us for one round of drinks, and said the other was on her.

We don't have any plans tonight, we'll take the boys out again shortly and then I'm cooking dinner in the apartment - I think it'll be an early night.
