Mausoleum
A bit wet and windy today and while not particularly cold there was a wintry nip in the wind and I could have done with my hat. D has been away for a couple of days so I had to bully the children into an early morning walk in the park - as usual they had a great time once they were out. I even managed to get them out for a second walk this afternoon although Ky was none too pleased when she realised the route we were taking through Callendar Woods would mean walking past the haunted bit! I've meant to try to take a picture of the Forbes Mausoleum when walking past before but the view from the path isn't very good - today I walked up to the gate, leaving Ky with the hound to protect her, in the hope of some good pictures. Of course Coco tried to follow Joshie and I and then Ky got very upset because her brother had gone through the gate and was intent on further exploration. We didn't hang about very long between Ky not wanting to come in and not wanting to let Joshie go in by himself - the dead didn't worry me but from the graffiti daubed about there was no knowing what he might find, there was a feeling of it being neglected and long forgotten by all but those looking for cheap thrills hanging around a creepy old building. Perhaps Joshie and I can go back ourselves for a better look. Before Blipping I had a wee look to try to find out more about the mausoleum - only know the silly stories teenagers tell to scare each other. Historic Scotland have it listed as an at risk building but don't seem to think it has deteriorated too much in recent years and feel that the graffiti is fading rather than being added to so maybe today's youth have found somewhere else to hang out.
