Silverknowes Walk

Dressed for the cold weather we set out by bus to the north side of town intending a walk along the coast, however, the journey took so long that we stopped for lunch before walking anywhere!

The promenade at Silverknowes was busy with children on new bikes or scooters, among the dog-walkers but all in good mood in the bright clear light, despite the chilly wind that found its way through the smallest of gaps in our outer cladding.

The first point of interest was this curious sculpture on the sea wall, see bottom left photo, which appears to have been the result of an angry altercation with a railing.

The other photos include, at top left, the view from the promenade, showing the causeway to Cramond Island and snow-clad Cleish and Ochil hills;
top right, I watched as two people attempted to ride bicycles on the beach, finding the task impossible in the wet sand;
bottom right, I could not resist snapping this enthusiastically bouncy dog and its owner, I did not snap the dog that wound its long lead round a tree and could not understand the owner's request to turn round and unwind.

After a welcome hot drink at the Boardwalk Beach Club café we continued to Cramond for our bus home.
