Afternoon Tea

Such a civilised meal:-)  It might have been better to have photographed these when they were full - one with savouries and the other with scones and sweet treats - but I was too busy entertaining our guests L & A.

Out came the best tea service (only used on high days and holidays) and we were even able to offer our friends a "Tea Menu", courtesy of the Fortnum & Mason selection box of teas we'd received as an anniversary present!

The scones may have been shop bought after my disasters of yesterday, but once warmed up in the oven, they were quite delicious, as were the other bits and pieces.  So handy that the shops are selling so many different mini versions of sweet and savoury treats:-)

My NZ photos were received with kind remarks and lots of memories for them as they visited a couple of years ago, so all in all it was a lovely afternoon and early evening.  They are driving home now in the hope of avoiding the really freezing temperatures promised for later tonight, so hope they arrive safe and sound.

Hope to catch up with Blip later, but I'm going to put my feet up now:-)
