 ......... Saturday.

Himself is away at his Mum & Dad's.  Very sad ..... his Mum recently spent some weeks in hospital and they found (eventually!!) that she had a collapsed lung - seems now she has cancer that has spread throughout her body and has little time left.  She just wanted to be at home so two days before Christmas home she came.
 
Dad-in-law, who's 84, was struggling to manage (and it seems home visit nurses are not allowed to lift - I won't even comment on that) so Himself and his brother are taking it in turns to stay there so that at least Dad can get some rest and to help out in any way they can - mostly moral support as his Mum is on a constant, very strong dose of morphine now and sleeps a lot which has to be the best thing for her.

He drove the two hours home last night, looked absolutely shattered and slept from around 9.00pm until 6.00 this morning.  I spent the evening cooking and off he went again this morning, at 7.00, with a big box of various homemade stuff that can just be reheated.  At least I know they will eat.

His Mum and Dad have been together 67 years and married for 66 of those on January 5th - just so, so sad.

Keep those you love close in your heart, hug them and tell them you love them - often.
