View from Latrigg
Walked along the disused railway, alongside the River Greta before turning off to make our way up Latrigg. It's one of the lower fells in Wainwright's books, but on the way up, and at the top, the views are fantastic, covering the Borrowdale valley, Derwentwater, Blencathra, Skiddaw and beyond.
We decided to pop back to the cottage for a late lunch, which reduced us to napping on the settee, before venturing out again to explore the Newlands Valley.
I blame the combination of the wine and fresh air.
