I went out to Fowlmere today for a walk - it's an RSPB wetland preserve which is very similar to Wicken Fen in terms of 'landscape'.  Needless to say, I didn't see anything more exotic on the water than two distant moorhens  and rather bizarrely, the two brown leghorn roosters which can be seen in the extra.

On the way back, however, I was fortunate to spot this bird of prey comfortably perched on the telegraph wire. For once I was a) able to stop and park safely and b) had the right lens on my camera...
