Still Frozen

I'm glad that Markus_Hediger has decided to take up the Experimental Photography series once again.  It stretches the creativity and expands the boundaries and is always interesting.  This week is Reduced Exposure. with the optional theme of nature.  Purposely keeping the image dark is harder than overexposing for me and this may not be as dark as I could have gone, but here it is nonetheless.  The ice has been on these branches for a week now and rather than melting it is evaporating with the extreme dry and cold, but frozen in time.

It's New Year's Eve and we won't be going far. Our next door neighbor is having a small get together.   It's also Logan's birthday.  We were lucky to get him to join us for lunch today.  Since he turned 21 we rarely get to see him on this day so it was a treat.  Twenty four years ago, he and I spent the turn of the New Year cuddled together in a hospital bed (because his body temperature was a little low and he needed to be held close and kept warm).  Jon had gone home with Sumner and with a view overlooking the city of Concord, we watched the ball drop in New York City. A very special memory I reminded him of today - he sheepishly smiled and gave me a hug.  In six months he will hopefully create his own special memory when his new baby is brought into the world.
