The Start...

I don't usually do a lot of mono shots because, while I appreciate the beauty of a well executed black and white image, I'm very drawn to color.  That, and the fact that I'm just not particularly good at recognizing the right mix of shadow and light...

But...

I really like the theme for today's Mono-Monday which is "START".  There are so many ways to interpret this, and if you clink on the link above, you'll see some wonderful images depicting "start."  (And thank you, Skeena for hosting.

My interpretation today...it was the start of the year, and the start of a meal with my bestie, Ellen and my Hubs.  What followed was a most delicious Thai lunch over which we lingered for several hours, enjoying laughs and memories.  Hubs has known Ellen for more than 20 years; and I've known her for nearly 35.  A yummy meal with champagne and people you love is always a perfect way to start a new year...
