And that explains the text...
You may recall that I received a strange text from the Tinies a few days ago that simply said "spider" and nothing else. In fact, no word from those little rascals until they sent an image of the New Year's festivities late last night. But today, I got a longer message and a photo that explains the text. This, of course, is the rare Solid-Black Tarantula. And although it may look as if the Tinies were in danger, this big arachnid quickly deduced that they weren't good to eat and then settled in for a nice photo shoot. And you can also see that Timothy Tiny was being his usual daredevil self and climbing up into the vegetation to get his shot. Daft Tiny.
Anyway, hundreds of shots were taken which reminded me of my own recent rain forest adventures involving an accommodating Stripe-kneed tarantula (click HERE if you aren't spooked by spiders).
Stay tuned for more rain forest adventures in the week ahead. And thanks so much to Hanulli/Doris for her ongoing TiPS challenge! This month's tag TiPS29.
We enjoyed a lovely dinner with our neighbors last night, although the food was overpriced. And today we are meeting up with Hubs' race-team buddies and spouses for an afternoon of food and laughs.
Happy New Year to everyone. I hope that we see a less divisive world in 2019, with good health and love to all.

PS: Technical details - used the D850's in-camera focus-shift function to take 19 shots at different focal points. Sent images to Helicon to stack, did some quick touch ups in LR and ...voila! I sure do like the focus-shift capabilities of this camera - wow!
