Soggy ground

The storm which started yesterday is still giving rain and high winds, although less than last night. It was good enough to go out with S to Henderson for lunch with her brother. As we left to return home, I wandered over to a riverside path near the restaurant and saw a pukeko (swamp hen) walking along on the waterlogged bank of the small river.
