Sunset over Loch Lomond
Loch Lomond is the largest loch in Great Britain by surface area. It is 24 miles long and measures 5 miles at its widest point. It has a maximum depth of 620 ft and its surface area measures 27 sq miles.
The loch contains more than thirty island several of which appear to be crannogs, artificial islands built in prehistoric periods. One of the loch's islands, Inchconnachan is home to a colony of wallaby and another, Inchmurrin, is the largest fresh-water island in the British Isles.
Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park became fully operational in July 2002. It encompasses around 720 sq miles of some of the finest scenery in Scotland from rolling landscapes in the south to high mountains in the north. It has many lochs and rivers, forests and woodlands and is an area which is visited and enjoyed by many for its recreational value.
I just had to take this when I saw the stripes reflected on the loch.
