MonoMonday: Classic

Many thanks to Skeena for hosting this month.

Shakespeare is pretty classic.
When I was about 10 years old my father made me bid on these 3 volumes at an auction. (He figured no one would try to outbid a little girl for them :-))

They are quite impressive with leather covers, gold edged pages and beautiful illustrations.

The cover is engraved with "Presented to Percy Adams Mathews by the Senior Officers of the E.S.&A. Bank Ld in Victoria on the occasion of his departure to Brisbane 7th August 1896"
