On a Cold and Frosty Morning
The compensation for a -7° walk this morning was the beauty of the frosted grass and leaves sparkling like little diamonds along our path. Everything was cold and white as we set off, but as the sun rose into a clear blue sky, the grass in the sunny areas lost something of its virginal allure.
Up until this point in the winter, there has been no council gritting of paths and pavements in this area. However, by lunch time today they had been busy, with all the Meadows paths and surrounding pavements salted and gritted.
It makes such a difference to old bones if a simple slip, which could be life changing, can be avoided. I expect someone in the council realised that, and argued it was money well spent not to have any more ambulances queuing up outside A&E .departments.
