"The Heirloom".
We were a funny lot in those days.
I FAINTLY remember the farmer bringing his horse & cart up the back-lane and measuring out the required number of pints into the waiting women's Jugs.
Shortly thereafter, of course, it came in bottles, which we used just like the jug; and referred to as "The cut Crystal jug".
Using similar logic we referred to this as the "Heirloom" inasmuch as it was used all my life "at home" and fell to "us" when Mam & Dad got their time in.
While, seen here containing roughly 330 gms roughly = 3/4 lb; the enormous looking spoon, aided by its impressed patterning, contained very little more than a standard tea-spoon.
