Mist it

No, its not a blurred image. We have been hit by a january fog since early this morning. It's the same familiar view from my office window, yet it isn't. The fog allows me to see only the few lights and brighter points of interest. The neon signs, the traffic lights, the brake lights. Things that warn me or draw me. Things that stand out in the fog. At this time of political stalemate, it is as though we have been shrouded in a political mist, where the way ahead is unclear. So, my question is, where in all of this do we see those bright lights that stand out?
