Today's the day ........................... to get money off

Wednesday is the day in Kendal (and presumably countrywide) where people over a certain age can get 10% off in a well-known DIY retail store.

So as we have been thinking about re-decorating the spare room, off we went to see what we could find.  The answer was - not a lot, and certainly nothing that inspired us in any way.  It was all a bit depressing really.  But undaunted, we ventured forth to another shop where it was all much better.  This shop used to give discounts to OAPs but doesn't now, presumably because it was costing them too much.

So that's Phase 1 completed.  All we have to do now is get on with the actual decorating bit ...........................
