Today's the day ................................. to watch the sun go down

Went up to the allotment to check up on how things were. It has to be said that this year has been a bit of a disaster up there on several counts.

The potatoes got blight quite early on and so the crop was very poor. The runner beans failed to emerge from the soil never mind climb up the poles. The number of beetroots that survived long enough to be dug up could be counted on one hand. And we won't even begin to talk about the raspberries.

Things can only improve next year ........................
