Along the Kent
Hmmm, I might just make a plan to blip all the rivers in Cumbria this year....
A good day today.
Started with confirmation that I've been accepted onto the Enhanced Community First Responders course. 6 weekends over 6months, but a lot more skills; airway management, spinal injuries, some drugs and... going to trauma calls, gulp.
Then a drive back into Kentmere to confirm my booking of the Institute, I'm going to dip my toe back into running courses, starting with First Aid as it's the least amount of 'ankle time'.
I also got to spend some time listening to tales from one of the two remaining people living in the valley who were born there, just the most fascinating social history. Anyone who knows this remote feeling place will also probably be interested to hear that the 14th Century Kentmere Hall (& more impressively its Pele tower) have been bought by a multimillionaire and are being fully restored, that should be something to see.
