Petrichor

After 10 absolutely dry months, we have just had two days of heavy, soaking rain. The trees are all celebrating that sun is back out, the sky is clear and the air has the sweet, fresh, evocative smell of plant oils and  geosmin, released from the soil when it rains.  

We have 6 goldfish in a fountain on our porch.  The have a new spring in their fins.
