Busy Harbour
6.7C and dull. SE wind to 28 mph with gusts to 40 mph.
When we were out last night for Fergus's last walk we saw one of the convoys bringing the big wind turbine sections come into town. Apothecary7 had her camera, so if she posts a blip I will link to it. Quite something to see. Going round bends gets interesting, even though the entry to town has been adapted and the bends in the roads minimised. These huge turbine sections are brought on a split vehicle. There is a very big tractor unit and a large multi wheeled rear unit on which a man stands controlling independent steering for the rear.
Fergus and I went for a walk out to the old shipyard after lunch. We went round to the harbour first to see if the bow of Rotra Vente, which was raised this morning when we were out just after 7am, was still up in the air. Unfortunately not. It would have made an interesting image, the bow raised by huge orange hydraulic struts.
I settled for a shot taken from the yacht club slipway over to the harbour and the hill behind town.
