Getting your head down

Mallards, a teal and a coot (and probably others I've misidentified - there might even be a flamingo) at Dungeness. Look along the side of many of the mottled birds and there is a glimpse of the speculum feathers; iridescent blue or green or turquoise. The sun was up but the wind was wicked and sharp. I tried some digiscope shots and they are getting better but I still need some more practice. The main problem is that my eyesight isn't the best when it comes to manual focussing. Using the scope I watched a heron and then caught a glimpse of a great crested grebe diving at the edge of the scrape - the grebe is related to the flamingo (Fact!)

All up a smashing day
