Baked bean bush
The Sea Buckthorn berries do look like baked beans but would not be very tasty to us, although I have made a very nice jam from them after sampling some which I bought on holiday. 
However there are still plenty of berries to satisfy the dozens of winter visiting fieldfares and other birds which were calling from the buckthorn.  Many bushes grow around part of the East Lothian coast but have become invasive as they easily spread by sucker shoots. Now measures are being taken to thin them out but the orange baked bean like berries will continue to brighten the area and nourish the hungry birds especially if the berries start to ferment.
