Despite the continuing gloom, I forced myself out for a walk round Old Sulehay Nature Reserve this afternoon, where I came across a small herd of Highland cattle. This cow was the most amenable and allowed me to approach quite close, though I'm always a little bit wary of those horns. She had a very itchy back and I discovered today that they're very effective back scratchers!
