Church

We're in the big man's good books today... we've been to church twice.

This morning we went to Messy Church, which is more like playgroup with a theme, a nice talk and a song no-one ever knows.  But it's quite nice and the boys like playing there - the youngest spent a while exploring the pews by the alter.  There's always lots of cake afterwards, which I always curse as it's just before lunch meaning the boys tend to not want to eat their slightly more healthy lunch.... I could have bigger problems to deal with.

This afternoon was a Christingle service at our village church, a whole lot more traditional than messy church.  Our vicar is new to the church, very enthusiastic and in his 20's.  The church was cold (the heating was broken) and attendance was low, but there was a lovely vibe about it.  The vicar had made his own large Christingle from chicken wire and papier mache, he admitted that his mother had said it was 'pretty rubbish', but he seemed quite happy to explain the significance of the items whilst tucking into the marshmallows he had used as sweets (whilst giving them out to all the children).  The boys loved it when they were given their own, normal sized versions and the lights were turned off so that the church was lit by candle light.

Husband home, a bit tired, but had a good weekend.
