We've been to a party

I think the eldest has run a marathon today.  We went for a walk this afternoon with our friends in the village, who had friends visiting with a dog - the eldest spent an hour running around after the dog.

We then headed out to a party in the next village, where the village hall were putting on a children's New Year party.  They had entertainers on hand, food and face painting - although we didn't make the face painting.  The eldest ran around solidly for about 2 hours, or energetically 'dancing'. I was utterly amazed when I drove back and arrived home with two boys still awake. That said, there were no complaints about going straight to bed, and I haven't heard a peep from either of them.  

Husband back home tomorrow, looking forward to it.
