Nutty Nuthatches

The kitchen window of the cottage looks out to a very wel frequented bird feeder. It is used be Blue Tits, Coal Tits and Great Tits and a pair of Nuthatches. I am not familiar with this bird at all, and they are vey handsome as well as acrobatic. The River Tees running just behind the garden is in full spate. We tried to walk to the nearest village acoss some stepping stones, crossing a little tributary but they were completely washed away. Off to High Force now, upper Teesdale.
