Tiny Tuesday - Mineral

In fact the tiny detail on this ring is less about the precious minerals and more about the life it's led. Gold is not a hard metal, and life has imprinted upon it so many years of wear (in both senses). It belongs to Janet now but was her mother's and before that, who knows. The ring itself is itself tiny, too small to be worn on any finger other than the tiny one, but the five diamonds, three small ones within two smaller ones, still shine with an inner light. And they would, being the hardest of all minerals. Not easy to photograph of course - either the stones are blown out or the ring is lost. This is the best of a handful of attempts.
