Seen Better Days

This abandoned shrimp store is beside the Calabash River.  Of course, fresh ocean shrimp are available near the current docks, but this place must have served as retail store for the shrimp boat that used to be docked here.  The dock is now totally dilapidated and I have not seen a boat there for a couple of years.  There is a house behind this place, and I suspect it is where the owner of the boat used to live.  The extra is a sepia version of this scene.  Incidentally, we had no snow from the recent storm, although Raleigh, NC got the equivalent of its average annual snowfall in one day yesterday.
