Sparkle and Shine

Dear O'H dear and Lovely Tea Jenny,

I went out tonight with 3 people I work/used to work with. We went to Gusto for dinner which was lovely. Lots and lots of fairy* lights. I do love fairy lights. It makes me feel like it’s still Christmas. I put snowflake fairy lights on my stairs 2 years ago and I thought they were so pretty that I left them up. Eldest Mini Princess has a friend who thinks it is hilarious that it’s still Christmas in June in my house and doesn’t believe my explanation that they are flowers and not snowflakes.

I had a lovely evening. It is really nice to spend time with people that you genuinely like out of the office. We all get on well so there wasn’t even very much work chat. Two of the guys weren’t drinking so Doddzilla and I shared a bottle of wine. When we left, he admitted that he was relieved that there was no ‘competition drinking’ which often happens on bigger nights out with colleagues. It makes me laugh to think that we still feel that peer pressure and we are supposed to be grown ups now!
