Happy Birthday!

Today's the day ........................... to surprise

Imagine the scene - the large function room at the Golf Club is full of balloons and about 150 people, all sitting round large tables.  There is an excited buzz in the air of people's chatter and laughter as they wait for the guest of honour to arrive.  It's Denise's 60th birthday today - and this is where her Big Birthday Party is taking place.

Denise, meanwhile, is on her way to the Golf Club - to what she thinks is a celebratory meal with the family.  It's going to be a nice, quiet, intimate way of marking the special day with her nearest and dearest.

Word comes that she's entering the foyer.  We get told to keep the noise down and the lights are dimmed.  She comes in through the door - as unsuspecting as a lamb to the slaughter - and well, I'm sure you can imagine the ensuing chaos!

Personally, I don't think I would have coped at all well with that sort of a surprise.  But thankfully, Denise is made of stronger stuff and she took it all in her stride as you can see below .........................
