Kent valley

Today's the day .......................... for wintry thoughts

The temperature hasn't risen even as far as 5°C for quite a few days now, but at least today, the sun was shining in a clear blue sky. 

This picture was taken from Scout Scar looking back eastwards over Kendal and the valley of the River Kent.  The sun was sinking slowly in the west.  Soon the valley would be in shadow and a wispy mist was already beginning to form.  Clear skies mean that it will be a cold night - and because there's a weather front on its way across from the west, it will probably result in more snow. 

Ah well - that's winter for you ................................
