Stunning snow

What an amazing day.Freezing cold again but a beautiful sunrise which led to clear blue skies. We headed for the Brahan Estate through white covered trees but the road was not looking very good so we carried on to Contin, now -6 on the car thermometer !
We intended to park and watch some of the Strathpeffer, a 24 hour bike ride through the forests near Strathpeffer but there was no where to park so we continued our journey and ended up at Black Water.Totally amazing, they must have had more snow over night as the ground was covered in at least a foot of snow and so much snow on the trees that that branches were dropping. As the sun tried to melt the snow , dusty particles fell to the ground covering us in ice crystals. We went for a stroll, you could exactly walk very fast and it felt warm in the sun.The views from the old bridge were stunning.
Back in the car we drove further up the road, -8 seen.Beautiful scenes all around. We saw some red deer stags who stood out against the white background. The dam was frozen. We turned round and travelled back with the view of Ben Wyvis is front of us.
We stopped at Rogie Falls for another walk.We changed our route when we started to slid down the slope. It was quite icy where people before us had walked.Very pretty and quiet even though the road was just a short distance away.
Mike helped a car get out of the car park with the help of a few others. Lots of cars were having trouble.Luckily were fine. A top up shop in Tesco followed.
Back home for a quick cuppa and lunch that we had bought from Strathpeffer deli. Then out again to The Point this time to see a great sunset with pretty pink skies behind the lighthouse.
The blip shows the view from Black Water Bridge :)
