And the winner is...

Niek Baar applauded by the conductor Otto Tausk and players of the Den Haag's Residence Orchestra just after they'd played the last note of the violin concerto by Robert Schumann.
For 2 weeks in Utrecht's music hall Tivoli the Biennale of the Oskar Back Violin Concours/Competition for young violinists was held and tonight, Saturday, the grand finale was held with three outstanding violinists: Tim Brackman,  Niek Baar & Hawijch Elders. Twice the violin concert by Robert Schumann was played and once the violin concert by Antonin Dvoràk. All three violinists played outstandingly well for the jurers and audiance, amongst whom the King's brother. It was like they played the stars from heaven (Dutch expression, I guess) but Niek Baar impressed the jurers most and he rightly so won this competition.

When collecting my coat from the cloakroom I met a photographer and asked him where he'd sell his picas to; he told me he follows the Royals and has buyers everywhere... ah a papparazzi than ~ glad I'm not a royal!
