Let's Go Fly a Kite
Any other day the Goldcrest in the extras would likely have been the Blip for the day, but then there came the distant and massively cropped Red Kite. Working from home today, always brings the benefit of a lunchtime park wander, and the weather played ball for once. All of the gulls on the Pond suddenly leapt as one, cacophonous aggravation crying out. Usually that means a Buzzard, or more likely a Sparrowhawk, but away in the distance, high up, there was the distinctive forked tail of a Kite, making its sedate way against the wind, occasionally pursued by a crow or two.
It was making in the direction of Arthur's Seat, and I've had someone comment online that they thought they saw one a couple of days ago, but couldn't trust their eyes. Would be interesting if we've got one hanging about in the Queen's back garden....
So Isla is done for her annual check-up (declared 'fit and healthy', though it wouldn't hurt to lose a little weight); there has been a fair amount of work done; I've learned all about the Money Market Fund Regulation while doing my latest turbo training session; and had a bird-laden lunchtime. If Carlsberg did workdays I guess.
