N2 to Wilderness

After breakfast we set off on the 260 mile drive from Stellenbosch to Wilderness which the sat nav estimated at 4.5 hours without stops. The drive East was along the N2 and covered miles upon miles of the Western Cape plains of South Africa. For the first couple of hours the sun was out and the 3D clouds were amazing. Being on a main highway I couldn't stop but did take the blipfoto from a picnic area.

The first humans are believed to have inhabited South Africa more than 100,000 years ago. Judging by how little building was upon the plains we drove past I wonder how it looked back then? My entry for Wide Wednesday for the theme history.


Nearing 5pm we arrived at our hotel on the seafront in Wilderness. Stunning views. They're paragliding right outside the building and how they miss the hotel is a wonder! (see extra)
