Salisbury Crags
It was a bright day, although the cloud stubbornly blocked out the sun until shortly after we completed our walk. Last Sunday on our orienteering courses there was a long leg from Salisbury Crags to the hill Above Dunsapie Loch. I went up and over whereas S went round the road; I thought my way was quicker so S wanted to do that leg today. While she did that I went up Hunter’s Bog and then up to the top of Arthur’s Seat. The blip is taken from the Lion’s Haunch looking over Salisbury Crags to the Old Town and the distant view of the bridges and the snow-capped highlands. Sadly it also shows the brown pall of the pollution from Grangemouth refinery, which somewhat detracts from the scene. S decided it would have been better to take the direct route but not by that much.
