No ordinary facade! Totally Lego!
The frontage of this family business was built in a Lego factory in the Czech Republic and shipped over. It needed just over 227,500 bricks, weighs 610 kilos and took 639 man hours to make by a team of 41 builders! It measures 4m high & 16m wide. and has amazing detail including the hydrant sign and the shapes of the window frames and drain pipes It was built to celebrate the first independent retailer in this country to sell Lego 60 years ago. The shop was bought by John & Pam Osborne in 1955. Sadly John died in 2015 but the business is still run by his wife and son Will.
Work will begin on 29th to dismantle it. What a shame! See extra for more detail
