Old Friends

We hired some bicycles today, of the pedal variety (no motors) and went for a tootle. We kept a very leisurely pace, but alas had set off about 2 hours later than we planned, so it was extremely hot. There were no gears on my bike, but there are hardly any hills, so that was no problem. C's bike was supposed to have over 20 gears, but only 2 worked. After a while we decided that a full circuit of the island was a bit ambitious in this heat, so we tootled back again.
Lesson learnt today? Choose your clothes very carefully when cycling in the tropics, otherwise it can be a tad embarassing.
These two ladies were deep in conversation outside one of the little local shops. They suffered no such problems with their clothing, having had years of practise in what to wear.
