Outlet

It's not open that often so I went into the gasturbine exhaust at unit EC 7 which is in overhaul.
You're looking upstream into the gasturbine fluegas outlet (just like in a jet airplane at the back of the wings), this one is a bit larger (compare it with the halogen light on the floor). In the middle the end bearing is located, together with lubricating oil pipes and instrumentation. The steel "things" in the corners are deflectors. The small holes are the "anti surge" outlets, coming from the compressor and are used to get rid of the surplus of combustion air (at that time), during the run-up to 3000 Rpm.
In the outlet you can see some of the 31 thermocouples, they measure the temperature of the fluegas which has a maximum of about 640°C (1184F), when a few adjacent temperatures drop too much, then there might be a problem with one of the combustion chambers.

Better in LARGE...

Mostly it is pictured like here but this time I chose for a different angle.
