It’s been a long day.
I got up early for my normal walk to Monday spin. There is a car park at the gym but it’s owned by the council and if I park there it costs between £1 and £2 depending on how long I stay. If I park in a nearby free car park I have a ten minute walk each way which is a perfect way to warm up for spin. I only use the other car park when the weather is really inclement.
Back home I rush to get showered and ready for our trip to Birmingham where we’re staying overnight so we can attend an early appointment with Igor’s ENT consultant. On the way we plan to stop off at CFC, Children Fighting Cancer, charity bike shop. Igor has some bicycle parts he wants to donate. They were very pleased to receive them. My image shows some wheels they obviously weren’t quite so pleased to receive. I hope they can be reCYCLED :-))))
The charity is just outside Stratford on Avon and also quite close to Edgehill where a famous battle between Royalists and Parliamentarians took place in the first English Civil War in 1642. We stopped briefly to have a look over the Edge. Extra shows The Castle built about a hundred years after the battle on the escarpment overlooking the battle site.
Our last stop before the hotel was at the home of Hildasrose and SHH. They gave us a wonderful early dinner with a delicious dessert of a very ‘tipsy’ trifle. Thanks Rose and Rob for your hospitality and company. Hope to see you both soon.
We’re now relaxing in our hotel room.
