Day 033/18. Giant Owl Butterfly

These things are huge. With a wingspan of around 15cm (around the span of a human hand) these butterflies are spectacular. The second image today shows one of them with their wings open.
Every year the RHS Wisley in the UK release thousands of tropical butterflies into their hothouse to boost the winter (paying) human visitors. Very busy at the weekends, but relatively quiet midweek.
We went along today and I was ready with my macro lens. I could have spent all day in there after that elusive perfect shot. Very recommended for a winter day out.
