What a Day!

So much happened today, too much to write about it all, but here is a summary:
 
It is my 60th Birthday
We had a photography trip to explore Wells Lifeboat Station, access to all areas and so interesting!
Surprise visit from friends for a surprise birthday cake and champagne at lunchtime
Lots of lovely presents
Lots of beautiful flowers
A private chef experience…fab dinner with friends and more champagne
My own photography website launched (Thanks to M & M), more to come about this another day
 
What a truly memorable day.  We had already organised the Private Chef company to come and cook dinner for us.  The chef Will was assisted by Sonia, who also did the waitressing.  They cooked and served delicious canapes and champagne, then a pre-starter of butternut squash soup with chorizo, a starter of roast pigeon breast with a pearl barley risotto and beetroot puree.  Followed by Venison, parsnip and potato mash, a venison mini wellington, assorted greens and a venison jus.  Then, finally a trio of apple desserts, a crumble, a mousse and a mini tarte-tatin.  They then served us coffee in the lounge with petit-fours and then cleared the table and washed up.  I could get very used to it!
 
Knowing what to blip was very difficult…the main photo is Will and Sonia in my kitchen, Will looks a little blurred, that’s because he was moving so fast…or perhaps it was the glass of champagne I’d had!
 
The extras show a couple of shots of the Wells Lifeboat, named after ‘Doris. M. Mann of Ampthill’ who gave much help and support to the RNLI.  Phil,  who looked after us all, has volunteered for the RNLI for 50 years.  He was great, so enthusiastic and welcoming and even made us tea.  Thanks goes to Julia, our photography teacher for organising the trip.  The Wells lifeboat station was established back in 1869, so many years of saving lives.  We all took loads of photos and it was fascinating to be allowed to go inside the boat too.
