Cotopaxi

That is the volcano you can see in the distance.  The plateau below it in the background is where the airport is and the view here is from the road heading to Otavolo markets.   Steep and windy aint it.   We did a bit of shopping at the markets (I bought a panama hat for me and mum) but as it was a Monday it was relatively quiet.  Saturday is the big day there.

We headed to Laguna de Cuichoca (first extra) and had an interesting walk around the crater lake.  From there it was to this fabulous hacienda where we had lunch.  Back through the traffic into Quito.  A ridiculously early start (we were being picked up at the hotel at 12.45 am for our 4 am flight to Lima and then Cusco).  Lots of grumbles about this from our group and thoughts of murdering the travel agent.
