The Splash

Today we found ourselves in Preston - not a lot to recommend it, particularly the city centre.  On our way home we stopped off to have a look at Deepdale stadium, the home of Preston North End F.C. It's changed a lot since I last visited it - PNE v Burnley - sometime in the late '50s :-)
I saw Tom Finney play - he was one of the game's greatest.
Outside the stadium is this water feature sculpture called 'The Splash' - inspired by a famous photograph of Finney taken at the Chelsea versus PNE game in 1956, played at Stamford Bridge in particularly wet conditions.
